Stop discrimination of Cheap furniture!
Martí Guixé, 2004
The monobloc plastic chair is probably one of the world’s best known chairs. The chair is practical, cheap and durable. Still, the design does not have a favourable reputation. Martí Guixé painted ten models with the same text: ‘Stop discrimination of cheap furniture!’ This is how he defends the simple but timeless design of these garden chairs. Guixé expanded the conceptual Statement Chairs series in 2009. This time he painted monobloc chairs with the text: ‘Respect cheap furniture!’ [text 2023]
