Centraal Laat ‣ 030Netwerk x Aan de horizon

Een avond vol muziek, optredens en workshops in het Centraal Museum.

Op een paar donderdagen per jaar houdt het Centraal Museum de deur tot laat open om meer kunst, lokale creatievelingen en nieuwsgierig publiek te verwelkomen op een speciaal evenement: Centraal Laat. Tijdens deze avonden worden de tentoonstellingsruimtes gevuld met live muziek en optredens. Gasten worden uitgenodigd om mee te doen door middel van workshops en lezingen. Elke Centraal Laat is ontworpen in nauwe samenwerking met Utrechtse vaandeldragers en nieuwkomers en is gebaseerd op de onderwerpen van de huidige tentoonstelling om de gasten een nieuwe, verfrissende ervaring te bieden.

In juli word je uitgenodigd om tijdens de tentoonstelling Aan de horizon na te denken over reizen, landschappen en over de verbinding met onze ruimte, wat we zien en wat op de achtergrond groeit, zoals straatcultuur. Deze Centraal Laat is samengesteld in samenwerking met 030Netwerk en brengt het ondergrondse straatlandschap van Utrecht onder de zon. Kijkend naar de horizon als een begin- en eindpunt, brengt 030Netwerk opkomende en gevestigde kunstenaars en disciplines van dans tot muziek en graffiti naar de ruimtes van het museum. Kunstenaars uit Suriname, workshops en lezingen over de wortels van de danscultuur nodigen de gasten uit om na te denken over Keti Koti en de impact daarvan op het landschap van vandaag. 030Netwerk

030Netwerk organiseert evenementen in Utrecht waar lokale creatievelingen de kans krijgen om zichzelf te laten zien. De missie is om het culturele klimaat te versterken en een infrastructuur te creëren die kunstenaars in staat stelt een succesvolle carrière op te bouwen. Ook in de muziekstudio van 030Netwerk wordt de ontwikkeling van opkomend talent gestimuleerd. Kunst en maatschappij vormen de kern van alle activiteiten, die plaatsvinden op bijzondere locaties, buiten de gebaande paden. Er wordt altijd kans gezien om getalenteerde artiesten te presenteren en nieuwe doelgroepen aan te spreken, en zo verschillende culturen met elkaar te verbinden.

OpdeKaart

OpdeKaart is een maandelijkse interactieve talkshow met live showcases waar bij lokale artiesten in het spotlicht worden gezet. Onder leiding van de host wordt er in de wereld van kunstenaars die actief zijn in en rondom Utrecht gedoken. OpdeKaart geeft een exclusief kijkje in het creatieve proces en onderzoekt het gebied waarin makers zich ontwikkelen. Hoe is het culturele landschap in de stad veranderd en waar willen we gezamenlijk naartoe? Om een breder perspectief te bieden, worden er ook professionals uit de industrie uitgenodigd om hun visie te delen.

CLU

CLU is a young organization, founded by experienced entrepreneurs from street culture with an extensive network of street art artists. CLU works closely with various commercial brands and companies that play an important role in youth culture and street culture. CLU stands for graffiti, fashion, sneakers, design and branding. The employees and partners come from the street culture scene or have a strong connection with this scene in one way or another.

Jamaya Kadijk

Jamaya Kadijk, a 24-year-old creative jack-of-all-trades, was born and raised in Utrecht. She is the proud owner of Joozy Art, a company where she is active as an artist, graphic designer and content creator. At 22, she decided to travel to the United States on her own to live there for a few months and explore her art. It was there that she came up with the idea of ​​combining her Afro-Caribbean roots with both historical and contemporary events to create interactive art. In this way she brings art and culture lovers together and inspires people to look beyond just the work of art in front of them. Her goal is to collaborate with makers from different backgrounds and organize exhibitions with her interactive art throughout the Netherlands. In this way she wants to encourage spectators to meet, create social connections and promote intercultural communication. Jamaya has devised a project especially for Centraal Laat called 'Portrait Talks', in which she guides various groups that have in-depth conversations about the stories behind her portraits.

Luke Benjamin

DJ Lucas Benjamin (35) started as a dancer in the hip-hop community at a young age and quickly discovered his passion for music and the stories behind it. He is a true connoisseur who takes you into the warm world of soul, jazz, funk, hip-hop, house to obscure polyrhythmic West African and Brazilian music. He does not limit himself to one era: his sets contain pearls from the 70s, but he is also always aware of the most innovative electronic sounds. Lucas is a resident DJ at Summer Dance Forever, The Notorious IBE, Wicked Jazz Sounds, Radio Radio and founder or part of initiatives such as MORE BOUNCE, Wicked Wax, Ghetto Funk Collective and Steppin' Into Tomorrow. His broad experience, unique selections and educational intention have ensured that he not only performs worldwide, but is also at home in many disciplines, such as theater, radio, nightclubs, schools and festivals.

Freedom City Utrecht

Freedom City is an annual celebration of street dance culture and hip-hop art forms. It's a festival designed for the whole family and anyone who has a passion for dance, music, and our community. During the Freedom City festival, dancers from around the world come together in one place. The platform serves as a stage for both local and international artists and creatives within the hip-hop community. Artists and audience connect during a three-day festival. This year, the program will feature hip-hop theatre, live performances, battles, and parties. Each year, the festival brings a new cultural impulse by collaborating internationally and bringing top-level artists from the hip-hop community to the city of Dom. This event appeals to a diverse audience from all over the Netherlands and abroad.
