About the work
In Shertise Solano’s video performance Mantra II, we see mouths speaking or singing rhythmically but we cannot hear their voices. The window piece was created specially for this location. It is an adaptation of Solano’s work Mantra (2018), in which she combines Sun Ra’s song Somebody Else’s Idea (1970) with imagery inspired by Samuel Beckett’s play Not I (1973).
Mantra and Mantra II will be on display until 10 Augstus 2026, and were part of the Move You Fool exhibition earlier on.
