De Wijk Centraal
Museumbezoek dichtbij: activiteiten in alle wijken van Utrecht.
Met De Wijk Centraal willen we de drempel voor een museumbezoek te verlagen voor Utrechters die niet vanzelfsprekend een museum bezoeken. Zodat alle bewoners van Utrecht zich welkom voelen in ons museum, uit welke wijk je ook komt.
Kunst in de wijk
Om mensen uit alle delen van Utrecht nieuwsgierig te maken naar een bezoek aan het museum, gaan we zelf de wijken in. Dat doen we met ons mobiel museum op wielen. Daar zitten reproducties in van kunstwerken waarmee we buurtbewoners op een laagdrempelige manier kennis laten maken met onze collectie. Daarnaast organiseren we ook workshops en andere activiteiten in buurthuizen, jongerencultuurhuizen en bibliotheken.
De wijk in het museum
Ook brengen we de wijken naar het museum door vervoer te regelen vanuit wijken als Kanaleneiland, Overvecht en Leidsche Rijn. Wijkbewoners worden met een bus opgehaald voor een museumbezoek en later op de dag terug naar huis gebracht. In het museum staat er een kop koffie of thee klaar en is er de mogelijkheid om activiteiten bij te wonen, de collectie te bezoeken en met andere buurtbewoners in gesprek te gaan.
