Bronze is a valuable material that also retains its value. For that reason, it is always saved or recast as something new. This makes Frank Tjepkema’s chair a sustainable piece of furniture. Once upon a time, the bronze of this chair could have been used for coins, or a sword. Tjepkema made this furniture piece entirely by hand, as a commentary on rapid contemporary production techniques such as 3D printing. Although the chair seems light and fragile because of its slender parts, it is actually robust and heavy. [text]
