Ultra Vision/Panorama Domtoren

Ultra Vision/Panorama Domtoren

Hans Wilschut composed four new city panoramas using photographs taken from dozens of separate camera positions. The photographs were taken from the Dom Tower, from three different altitudes and in a different season. By merging the photographs together, the result is a unique view of the city that can never be seen as such by a human observer. This photograph, titled Summer, serve as a wonderful background to one of the museum’s greatest treasures: the sculptures made by Jan Nude for the Dom Church, in mid-fifteen century. These sculptures were so cherished that they were hidden away safely before the Protestant protestors could demolish them during the iconoclastic fury.
