Dutch fashion designer Jan Taminiau created this long, denim evening gown, in which he combined his Poetic Clash and Nature Extends collections, especially for the Blue Jeans exhibition (2012) at the Centraal Museum. The gown unites the stylish elements associated with the designer and experimental materials. The couture is identified by the diamond shapes and frayed edges, subtly trimmed with Swarovski crystals. Careful consideration reveals more details, such as the size of the diamond motifs which are smaller at the waist in order to make it seem more narrow, and the transition of the colours in faded red, white and blue. Faded colours and torn material refer to the world's general love of jeans, which are also a favourite of the designer. Taminiau rose to fame with his 'post bag jacket' in 2005, made from used Post Office bags. His stunning, deep blue inauguration dress for queen Máxima during the coronation in 2013 instantly made his name for the general public.
