Despite its title, this painting is not so much about the car as about the abstract shadow on the road. Although the composition seems like a casual snapshot, in reality Eddy carefully constructed his paintings from multiple black-and-white photos with different viewpoints and depths of field. This becomes apparent if you look carefully, because while we see the curvature of the road surface, we can also see under the car. [text 2024]
