Gerrit van Dokkum was a true Utrecht artist. Born and raised here, he devoted a large part of his drawings and paintings to local cityscapes, landscapes and notable historic buildings, such as the Dom Tower. As a member of Kunstliefde, for many years he provided the texts and drawings for the society’s ‘annonces’ – invitations to its public art viewings.
