Odd one out or pioneer? While the whole world was still mesmerized by the conceptual approach of Droog and Dutch Design, Aldo Bakker was going in a new direction. According to Bakker, form is the most important aspect of a design. This will more likely result in a usable piece of art, than a functional object, and certainly not a three-dimensional statement or comment. He uses unexpected materials and techniques which can end up being time-consuming and expensive. He once tried to create this chair’s curved shapes using wood.
