We post all job openings and internships on our website, cultural-sector job boards, the Centraal Museum’s LinkedIn channel, Indeed and the Museum Association website. Internships usually start in February and September and are posted 2 to 3 months in advance.

No, we do not consider unsolicited applications, including applications for internships.
We recruit new employees using an inclusive recruitment method. This method focuses on assessing the competencies that are important for the role. We do not request CVs or assess cover letters. We only assess the applicant's answers to the competency-based questions included in the job posting.
We do not always use this method for temporary positions and internships; if that is the case, it will be stated in the job posting.
We will respond as soon as possible after the application deadline. Depending on the number of applications, this may take longer. The job posting will indicate when you can expect a response.
We place great importance on integrity, reliability and a safe working environment, which is why both employees and volunteers are required to provide a Certificate of Conduct (VOG). The screening profile depends on the nature of the role.
Community service internships for secondary school students must be requested at least four weeks in advance.
The internship allowance for MBO, HBO and university students is €550 per month for a full-time internship (36 hours per week). No internship allowance is paid for community service internships or work experience placements. Interns who do not have a student public transport pass are covered by the museum’s travel expenses policy and will be reimbursed for second-class public transport costs.
