You can find reference material on a vast array of subjects in the Information Centre.

Pupils, students and teachers

Looking for background information for a school assignment? The Centraal Museum's Information Centre is a good starting point. It is also a nice, quiet place to study. Teachers frequently visit our Information Centre, too; for example to prepare for a class.

Are you looking for a specific reference work, for example about current or past exhibitions? Or would you like to learn more about a topic related to our collection for a publication? Chances are good we have the sources you need.

For specific questions we recommend making an appointment in advance. This will allow the volunteers to go ahead and find the necessary materials and set them aside for you. You will be able to get started immediately.

Anyone else who is interested

The Information Centre is also a nice place for anyone who would simply like to sit quietly reading an art magazine, for example. You can also find information about the nature and history of the Centraal Museum and the collections, for example, and about current and past exhibitions.

Our dedicated volunteers will be happy to assist you. They will direct you and answer all of your practical questions. The team of volunteers receives support from employees from the Public & Information and Collection Management departments. They can answer your content-related questions.

Opening hours

The Information Centre in the upper chapel has the same opening hours as the museum.
