The Italian designer Enzo Mari published the book Autoprogettazione in 1974. Containing designs of furniture pieces that people can make at home, it can be seen as a statement against capitalist mass consumerism: whatever you need, make it yourself! This chair was created for this exhibition using the wood of a diseased ash tree in the Utrecht district of Kanaleneiland. [text 2024]
