This furniture piece by Tim Breukers is not an instance of ‘less is more’. His ceramic version of the Rietveld chair is impossibly heavy and seems made of waste found at a construction site. The red-baking clay drips from between the bars like PUR foam. Two colours of clay were used to make this ceramic chair. The white-baking clay was used to create hollow bars, using a ceramic extruder. The red-baking clay was made fluid using Dolapix. The resulting paste was then used to glue the bars together.
