Library

The Centraal Museum library supports the museum’s collection policy and facilitates research into the museum collection for staff, students and researchers.

In total, there are around 25,000 books and 10,000 journals. The publications cover artists represented in the museum collection, exhibition catalogues, and reference works on fashion, design, architecture, visual art and the history of the city of Utrecht.

The museum library is continuously expanded with new publications through donations and acquisitions. There is also a publication exchange programme with participating institutions from around the world. Where possible, relevant publications are linked to objects in the museum collection. In the Collection Database, this information can be found for each object under ‘Documentation’.
