Thanks to donations, we can continue to organise special exhibitions and show and expand our collection. Special exhibitions allow us to show our collection and tell stories. Stories from Utrecht, the Netherlands and the rest of the world. Donations and legacies are an indispensable component.

Donate money

  • Periodic donation – You can arrange this via a donation agreement between you and the Centraal Museum. A periodic donation usually offers the greatest tax benefit.
  • One-off donation – Would you like to make a one-off donation to the Centraal Museum? This is the designated bank account: NL97 RABO 0174 9106 49, in the name of Stichting Centraal Museum.

Tax benefits may apply if you donate. In addition, you do not have to pay a gift tax on donations. The entire amount will benefit the museum, in other words. Read all about tax benefits or our ANBI status.

Donate an object

Do you own a unique object that you would like to bequeath to the Centraal Museum? We will be happy to put you in touch with the curators. Please contact Merel Schrijvers (see bottom of this page).

Centraal Museum in your will

Would you like to bequeath a work of art or sum of money to the Centraal Museum? If so, you can include us in your will. You do not need to pay inheritance tax on gifts to us because of our ANBI status, which means the Dutch Tax Administration has designated the Centraal Museum as a 'Public Benefit Organisation'. You can arrange your legacy through your personal notary. Of course, we are also happy to work with you. This is how you include us in your will:

  • Bequest – You can leave a sum of money, moveable or immoveable property to the Centraal Museum through a bequest.
  • Inheritance – You can arrange to have a part or percentage of your legacy allocated to the Centraal Museum through an inheritance.

Do you have questions about your gift or legacy? Please contact Merel Schrijvers, development and private relations: or +31 (0)30 236 2360.
