Op 1 augustus 2005 overleed in Utrecht de kunstschilder Constant Anton Nieuwenhuys, beter bekend als Constant. Hij was 85 jaar oud.
Naar aanleiding van zijn overlijden werden enkele werken van hem toegevoegd aan de tentoonstelling Rietvelds Universum.
