The collection saved by droog., purchased by the Centraal Museum at the international furniture fair Salone di Mobile in Milan, will be on display at the museum from 17 July through 10 October 2010. Especially for this collection, Droog challenged 14 designers to create new products out of objects from bankrupt’s assets. This challenge has resulted in a series of 19 products of which the Centraal Museum has purchased one of each. You can expect a multicoloured presentation, varying from trolleys for dogs to paper tissues with the latest headline news.

From Daniëls to Dumas, from Schleiffert to Schoonhoven. 19 jun t/m 12 sep 2010

Between 19 June and 12 September 2010, the Centraal Museum will show you how contemporary artists go about in various ways with drawings in the exhibition Put on paper. From Daniëls to Dumas, from Schleiffert to Schoonhoven. From the serving role that the drawing has had of old as a preliminary study or a sketch, the art of drawing has during the past decades developed into an autonomous discipline. The exhibition shows that artists nowadays preferably use huge paper sizes, with a great variety in techniques and styles. With this exhibition the Centraal Museum celebrates the 25th anniversary of the Collection Contemporary Drawings owned by the Province of Utrecht.

A presentation of the collection of Old Masters 1450-1700. 5 jul 2008 t/m 31 dec 2010

Utrecht’s Dreams of Rome, is a semi-permanent presentation of the collection of Old Masters, at the Centraal Museum, Utrecht. This  presentation of world-class masterpieces shows how Utrecht’s 16th-century painters were inspired by their Italian counterparts – a process that eventually led to the rise of 17th-century Dutch Masters such as Rembrandt, Vermeer and Frans Hals.
Long before Dutch painting blossomed in towns such as Amsterdam and Haarlem, Utrecht was the supreme centre for painting in the Northern Netherlands. Utrecht’s Dreams of Rome traces the development of this unique tradition.
